GMaps-6.x-2.0 development plan

The primary goal of the gmaps-2.0 release is to support D6, but it will contain essential developments, from the view of later releases, and a few new improvement, too.

Planned release date: 30. april 2009.

Administration, settings
Much more clear settings pages. Automatic file moving when path changes (batch) - Almost done
Length handling
  • Configurable units, form elements, parser and formatter functions - Done
  • "Goodies": Length converter page and block - Done
Icon management
  • Default icons.
  • Custom icons: 1:1 mapping of the GIcon class - Done
  • Complete MapIconMaker interation: Marker, Labeled marker, Flat
  • New operations: clone (copy), reset to defaults - Partially done
Maps
  • Simplified, one step creation.
  • Default maps.
  • New operations: clone (copy), reset to defaults
  • Content path: automatic route generation between markers in the order they were added.
Static maps
Implementation as independently manageable unit, like "Maps".
Geocoding
Geocoding and reverse geocoding functionality to all address and/or coordinate enabled form elements.
Address handling
  • Changeable subfield labels - Done
  • Ability to hide unused subfields - Partially done
CCK fields
Administrable field formatters
